It supports a wide range of high-resolution audio formats, including DSD (up to native DSD512), 24-bit 768kHz PCM, as well as common formats such as FLAC, WAV, AIFF, MP3, AAC, and many others. The XMT20 is compatible with major streaming services such as Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, and Roon Ready, offering seamless integration with modern audio ecosystems.
In terms of connectivity, the XMT20 offers a variety of digital outputs (optical, coaxial, BNC, AES/EBU, USB, and I2S LVDS), allowing for optimal connection to an external DAC for high-quality sound reproduction. It also features a rear USB port for playback from external storage devices (up to 2TB) and an M.2 NVMe SSD slot accessible under the device. Network connectivity is provided via Wi-Fi and Ethernet, and the XMT20 supports DLNA and Airplay 2 protocols for wireless streaming from a NAS or other compatible devices. Finally, it is possible to connect an external CD player via USB, or use the Shanling CR60 for optimized CD playback and ripping.
